Known Problems with Easy Mail

Version Description Details Fix
Version 3.1
  • Error message: "There is no default printer selected".
  • No envelope displayed on the opening screen.
  • Other various error messages.
This problem occured when the envelope configuration file became corrupted.
The affected file is: ENVUS.DAT for US users, and ENVMET.DAT for metric users.

Deleting the corrupted file causes Easy Mail to make a new file with the default values, and fixes the problem.

This problem was fixed in version 3.1.7. Downloads from this site have been fixed. Some other download sites may not have been updated yet.

Look for version 3.1.7 or greater in the About Box.

Once a logo was added to the list, there was no way to remove it.

Version 1.1 Windows error #11 on start up This was a rather obscure conflict with a program called First Aid.
If First Aid was installed on a machine, it changed a Windows dll on boot up. This altered Windows file conflicted with a compression utility used on Easy Mail version 1.1.
Easy Mail avoids the problem starting with version 1.3. We can't speak for First Aid.

Look for revision date of January 1998 or later in the About Box.
