Easy Chop Suey Regi Dean's Recipes 08/22/99 Hamburger Southern Living Magazine {*****} Beef, ground 1 1/2 lb Cabbage; shredded 2 c Celery; sliced 1 c Cornstarch 2 tb Mushrooms, fresh; sliced 1/2 c Onion; sliced 1 md Pepper 1/8 ts Salt 1 ts Shortening 2 tb Soy sauce 2 tb Water 2 c {**********} 6 servings Rice; cooked (opt.) Brown ground beef, onion, celery, and mushrooms in shortening. Pour off drippings. Combine cornstarch, salt, pepper, water, and soy sauce. Add to meat mixture and cook, sitrring constantly, until thickened. Add cabbage and cook until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes.
