Danish apple slice

flour	2 1/2 cup
salt	1 tsp
shortening 	1 cup
egg yolk	1
corn flakes	1 cup
tart apples	8 - 10  ( 
sugar	3/ 4 - 1 c
cinnamon	1 tsp
egg white	1

oven 375    cookie sheet

combine flour and salt; cut in shortening to size of peas   beat yolk in measuring cup and add water to 
make 2/3 cup liquid   mix well   addto flour mixture  

on floured surface roll 1/2 dough 17 x 12 inches so it hangs over sides of sheet    spread cornflakes over 
dough  spread apples over flakes  mix cinnamon and sugar  sprinkle over top   roll last 1/2 of dough to fit 
over top of apples  seal edges   cut small slashes on top for steam to escape  beat egg whites till frothy 
brush over crust    

bake 50 minutes   cool completely in pan before cutting     very much like apple pie
