Cherry loaf Regi Dean's Recipes 1/12/00 Cakes Donna Martin {*****} flour 1 3/4 cup baking powder 2 tsp salt 1/3 tsp butter 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup eggs separate 3 milk 1/2 cup almond extract 1/2 tsp glace cherries 1 3/4 cup {**********} oven 350 grease and flour loaf pan separate eggs set aside chop about 1/3 of the cherries sprinkle about 1/4 cup of the flour overall the cherries and mix well set aside cream the butter until fluffy add egg yolks one at a time beat well between additions add extract beat well combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk making 3 additions ending with dry ingredients beat egg whites until stiff fold into batter and now fold in the cherries thoroughly pour batter into pan and bake for 45- 50 minutes or until toothpick comes clean cool in pan for 20 minutes turn out on to rack put cake right side up and cool completely before wrapping for storage
