Brownies ( Date & Almond ) Regi Dean's Recipes 08/25/99 Brownies Creative Cooking - Desserts {*****} Baking powder 1/2 ts Butter 1 1/3 c Chopped almonds 1/2 c Chopped dates 1/2 c Eggs, beaten 2 Flour 2/3 c Salt 1/4 ts Sugar 1 c Unsweetened baking chocolate 2 oz Vanilla extract 1 ts {**********} 16 brownies Preheat oven to 350oF. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together into bowl. Melt butter and chocolate in top of double boiler over hotwater. Remove from heat. Combine sugar and eggs in large bowl; add chocolate mixture. Stir in flour. Add almonds, dates and vanilla. Spread batter in greased 8"square baking pan; bake for 25 minutes. Cool in pan, then cut into squares.
