BANANA NUT CAKE

Baking powder	1 1/4 tsp.
Bananas, mashed (about 3)	1 1/4 cup
Buttermilk (again)	1/3 cup
Buttermilk	1/3 cup
Eggs, large, slightly beaten	2
Nuts	2/3 cup
Salt	1 tsp.
Shortening, soft	2/3 cup
Sifted Cake Flour	2 1/2 cups
Soda	1 tsp.
Sugar	1 2/3 cups

Beat shortening, cake flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.  Add 
bananas and buttermilk.  Mix until all lfour is dampened.  Beat 
vigorously for 2 minutes.  

Add next buttermilk and eggs.  Beat 2 minutes longer.  Fold in nuts.  
Bake in 2 round pans or a 9x13" pan at 350* for 30 to 35 minutes or until 
done.
